A Memorandum of Understanding between the State Government and Bank of India was signed here today to provide houses to 38 lakh homeless people through the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Mission. The Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development and Social Justice, Shri Gopal Bhargava said that this is part of our strategy to provide house to each homeless person in coming years.
The Principal Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development, Smt. Aruna Shrma; Chief Executive Officer, Madhya Pradesh Rural Development Authority, Shri Sanjay Dube on behalf of the State Government and Regional Manager, Bank of India, Shri A.K. Verma signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Shri Bhargava said that the Union Government is constantly curtailing the allotment being given to the state to provide houses to homeless people. Compared to other states, Madhya Pradesh is getting lowest allotment under the Indira Awas Yojana. Keeping this in view, the State Government has launched the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Mission through its own resources. The State Government has decided to provide house to every homeless rural person under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Mission in three-four years with the help of banks.
As per the survey conducted in 2001-02, atleast 37 lakh 62 thousand persons of rural areas of the state were either homeless or were living in semi pucca or kuchcha houses and meagre annual allotment of 70 thousand houses under the Indira Awas Yojana was not enough for these people. To fulfil this gap, the State Government passing a resolution 2010 decided to introduce the scheme Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Mission.
The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the Mission on February 22, 2011 from Sookaldhana village in Hoshangabad district. As per the target, one lakh houses would be constructed in the state during year 2011-12.
i satisfied by this news about mukhyamantri awas mission because in rural area there were so many problems of awas i.e. residence.
