A total amount of Rs.1,398.30 lakh, including Rs.5.80 lakh for setting up of IT Cell, has been released by the Ministry of Minority Affairs for the Minority Concentration District of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh under Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) against an allocation of Rs.1,500 lakh for the 11th Five Year Plan. Giving this information in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Shri Vincent H. Pala, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, said that the projects sanctioned are for construction of 200 units of anganwadi centres (AWCs), 1000 units of Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) houses and one unit of girls’ hostel having 100 seats capacity. However, there is balance amount of Rs.360.00 lakh available with the State Government on account of dropping a project for construction of additional class rooms by the State Govt. for which the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh has been advised to send new proposals. Shri Pala said that there has been no delay in release of funds for approved projects by the Central Government. As provided in the guidelines for implementation of MsDP, utilization certificates and relevant documents are required to be submitted by the State Government for release of the next instalment.
