Himansha Sharma, Bhopal : A state-level organic seminar and organic haat will be held from March 2 to 4 at Swaraj Udyan, Ravindra Bhavan here to realise dream of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to make agriculture profitable. The haat will be organized jointly by Farmers Welfare & Agriculture Development Department and Krashak Jagat Education Society.
Farmers from all districts of Madhya Pradesh will participate in the haat where organic farmers from other states will also visit. Detailed information will be given at the haat about methods and benefits of organic farming. Organic farmers will also exchanged their experiences at the seminar.
Sale, purchase and display of organic products of state’s farmers will also be made on the occasion. This was informed by Director Farmers Welfare & Agriculture Development Shri Mohan Lal Meena here today. It is noteworthy that Madhya Pradesh has 40 share in organic farming in the country at present.
He informed that the state government is encouraging bio-farming and organic farming in villages. Total organic farming is being undertaken in over 5000 villages in the state. At the haat, farmers will be able to inspect organic fertilizers, seeds, modern agricultural implements, sprinklers, drips etc. and purchase them as per their requirement. Various organic farming models like Nadep compost tank, bio-gas plant, cowdung and cow urine-run power plants, cow-powered energy plants, vegetables grown without sprinkling chemicals, fruits and food grains will be available for sale at the haat. Live demonstration of various aspects of organic farming and delicacies made of various organic food grains will be main attractions of the haat.
A 3-day seminar on the occasion will be attended by agriculture experts, agriculture scientists from India and abroad, senior agriculture officers, officers and representatives of farm equipment manufacturing companies and farmers from all over Madhya Pradesh and country.
