Bhopal : A state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan took the important decision of introducing Emergency Medical Response Service 108 in all the districts of the state. At present, this service is available in nine districts of the state. The service will become available in the rest of the districts during the current year itself. For this, 150 ambulances will be purchased. At present, 108 service is available in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Rewa, Sagar, and Jabalpur. During the current month, the service has also been started in Datia, Damoh and Sehore district, which was endorsed by the cabinet today.It may be mentioned that the EMRI 108 vehicle, which is equipped with all the necessary appliances, doctors and staff reaches the site of an accident or a patient in distress and makes medical services available immediately.
Endorsing the Madhya Pradesh Legal Metrology Rule 2011 formulated under Legal Metrology Act 2009 the cabinet decided to implement it in Madhya Pradesh. The amount for compounding fee has been fixed in these rules under the concerning provisions of the Legal Metrology Act 2009. According to it, Rs. 5 thousand compounding fees will be charged on creating a measurement different to the prescribed standard, Rs. 5 thousand on underweighing, Rs. 2 thousand on using unauthorised weights and measurements and minimum ` 2 thousand fees has been fixed on the use of non-standard weights and measurements. The objective of these rules is to bring down incidents of underweighing and measuring and protect consumers’ interests.
The cabinet endorsed amendment in the training scheme for providing jobs to educated unemployed youths belonging to backward classes by the Backward Class and Minorities Welfare Department.
As per the announcement made by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, provisions of the scheme have been made more clear, wide-ranging and practical.
According to the amendment, Backward Class and Minorities Finance and Development Corporation has been made the nodal agency for the training in place of MAPCET. Non-government organisations working as vocational training providers under Modular Employment Scheme of National Council for Vocational Training for the Technical Education Department have been linked with the scheme with a view to bringing about quality in training and ensuring employment guarantee. Through this scheme, backward class people working in unorganised sector and school dropouts will be provided an opportunity of skill development through training. The non-government organisations registered as V.T.P. will have to get themselves registered for the scheme within three months of their selectioin.
Similarly, minimum age for aspirants for training has been reduced to 16 years from 18 years. The success/placement rate after training to aspirants has now been set at 40 percent instead of 20 percent.
In the amendment, some new provisions have been included for the process of selection of training institutions and terms and conditions for training and norms have been made clearer and more practical. Applicants’ minimum educational qualification will be 8th pass instead of 10th pass.
