Bhopal:Tuesday, September 20 : There is no need to worry if an electricity meter installed at a house or any other place starts running fast, stops working or goes out of order. Decks have been cleared for prompt redressal of these problems by making an online complaint. Redressal of this problem has also been covered under Public Service Guarantee Act. As many as 694 such complaints received only online have been redressed during the last one and a half months. Not only this, but if consumers wish, they can also give an application to this effect directly to electricity office of their respective areas.Complaints about low-tension meters going out of order had been coming to electricity offices. Now, the decks have been cleared for prompt redressal of such problems. A consumer has not to take rounds of electricity offices either. As soon as an online complaint is made, the concerning consumer is given a date for redressal of his problem and the department’s staff will visit the consumer’s place. The staff will repair or replace the meter, whichever is necessary.
Other issues also solved
During the last one and a half months, the Energy Department has also made other facilities available to online consumers. Wherever possible in this connection from the existing network, demand letters for 2,692 low-tension new individual connections and 2,151 such connections have been provided. The department has also given 662 connections up to 10 KV to those who had deposited money during this period.
