Electricity consumers will not have to stand in long queues now for paying their power bills. Central Region Power Distribution Company has launched internet service for paying electricity bills from Tuesday. Minister of State for Energy & Mineral Resources (independent charge) Shri Rajendra Shukla launched the service. Those present on the occasion included Secretary Energy Shri Mohammad Sulaiman, CMD of Central Region Power Distribution Company Shri Nitesh Vyas, Chief General Manager (IT) Shri A.K. Jain, Chief General Manager (Commercial) Shri Virendra Gupta, Joint Dirctor(IT) Shri Sanjeev Saxena, General Manager (City Circle) Shri S.D. Singh and other officers and employees of IT wing of the distribution company were present on the occasion.Shri Shukla said that due to launch of online bill payment facility by Madhya Pradesh Central Region Power Distribution Company, consumers will be able to pay their electricity bills sitting at home. He said that R-APDRP project is being implemented in people’s interest in the state under which various improvements are being undertaken in power distribution and transmission systems. Information technology-based system is also being evolved for curbing transmission and distribution losses. The system of online complaints by consumers is also being strengthened.
Consumers can use debit cards and netbanking services of about 40 banks for online payment of electricity bills. Payment can also be made using credit and cash cards.
