9 March : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan got his name registered under UIDAI scheme at his residence here today. An enrolment team registered biometric data of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan like finger prints, photo of pupils and demographic data such as date of birth, certificate of residence, photo identity card and so on. All the documents were verified by the team.
Besides, registration under UIDAI scheme, the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also got himself registered under Food Coupon scheme as a farmer. The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan apprised himself of enrolment process. It may be mentioned here that at the initiative of the Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, the State Government has launched country’s first Food Coupon and e-Ration card scheme for the consumers along with UIDAI scheme as a part of efforts to strengthen public distribution system in Madhya Pradesh.On this occasion, Principal Secretary Food Shri R. Ramanujam, Secretary-Cum-Commissioner Food Shri Ajit Kesari, Secretary-Cum-Commissioner, Treasury and Accounts Shri Manish Rastogi and other officials were present.
In the first phase, the State Government is implementing Food Coupon/Adhar Yojna in five districts: Hoshangabad, Harda, Burhanpur, Shajapur and Dewas. The schemes will be expanded in other remaining districts. With implementation of the scheme, the eligible beneficiaries will be entitled to get food in public distribution system. There will be no bogus and duplicate rations cards in practice. The food coupon cards will also help the consumers to get other essential commodities under Government schemes.
Under the UIDAI scheme, all the citizens will be provided Unique Identity Card number. The beneficiaries will not be deprived of government benefits. It will be multipurpose for the citizens. The Unique Identity Card number will help in opening bank account in seeking mobile connection, in admission of children in school, photo identity during railway traveling on e-ticket and producing identity to book rooms in hotel and so on.
Till today, the work on issuing card number is in progress in all blocks and tehsils of Hoshangabad district. A total of one lakh 97 thousand 991 persons have been enrolled and 74 thousand 654 persons were issued cards.
Under the scheme, the beneficiaries will have to produce one of the 17 documents identified by the Government like driving license, electricity bill, Kisan credit card, etc at their local fair price shop, school or Panchayat Bhawan for giving photos, photo of eyes and fingers prints with other information like date of birth, address and identity card.
After verification, the State Government will issue a new ration card with 60 food coupon for one year. The Unique Identity Card number will be provided at the address of citizens.
Other departments of State Government like Higher Education, MGNREGS, Commissioner Treasury and Account are also being included in the scheme. At the proposal of Commissioner Treasury and Accounts, around 10 lakh employees of various cadre are being enrolled for food coupon/Adhar Yojna in six district of the states: Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain, Chhindwara and Ratlam. This work will also be undertaken in above mentioned five districts in first phase. The work of enrolment of employees and officials of Commissioner Treasury and Accounts Directorate, Commissioner Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Directorate has been completed in Bhopal.
