Bhopal : Sardar Patel’s statue unveiled on premises of Satna District Hospital Bhopal:Sunday, October 30, 2011: Updated20:50IST    Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has said that Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was the leader of masses of entire India. Everyone should take a resolve for construction of India of Sardar Patel’s ideals.
The Chief Minister was addressing a function held at Town Hall in Satna on the occasion of unveiling of a statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on the premises of Satna District Hospital on Sunday. MP Shri Ganesh Singh presided over the function. Minister of State for Mining and incharge minister of the district Shri Rajendra Shukla, MLAs Shri Ramkhilawan Patel and Shankarlal Tiwari, Rewa Mayor Shivendra Patel and Rewa Zila Panchayat President Sushri Maya Singh were present on the occasion. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Sardar Patel who took cudgels in freedom struggle was a brave and fearless leader.
He was also a leader of farmers and had launched country’s biggest farmers’ movement in Bardoli. The Chief Minister said credit goes to Sardar Patel for the look of present-day India as he unified India by effecting merger of Princely States with his skillfulness. Talking about ambitious scheme Beti Bachao Abhiyan of the State Government, Shri Chouhan said that daughter is the biggest wealth of the world, which can survive only when daughter is safe. The Chief Minister said that the State Government has launched several schemes for the welfare and uplfitment of girls and women.
The State Government is contemplating to provide Old Age Pension to families having only daughters. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that taking inspiration from ideals of Sardar Patel the State Government is trying to restore full justice and rights to farmers. He said that this year also, the State Government will give bonus of Rs. 100 and Rs. 50 per quintal on the procurement of wheat and paddy. The Chief Minister said that the process of returning lands unaffected by submergence area of Tons Barrage has got underway. He said that efforts will be undertaken to ensure flow of water to the fag end in the canal of Bansagar in Satna district.
