The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the birth anniversary of the architect of Indian Constitution Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar will be celebrated with solemnity and dignity at his birth place Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) on April 14. The State Government will extend all possible helps cooperation in this connection. Shri Chouhan was reviewing the preparations for Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar birth anniversary ceremony here at his residence today.The Chief Minister said that the State Government is ready to provide lands to Army at other place in lieu of lands on the premises of Ambedkar Memorial. If needed, the state government may also purchase lands in order to provide lands to the Army. The Union Defense Ministry will be requested in this regard. Shri Chouhan also said that the officials concerned would be instructed to mention the name of Mhow as Dr. Ambedkar Nagar.
Shri Chouhan instructed the officials of all departments to complete required works on time with a view to celebrating Dr. Ambedkar birth anniversary function with dignity. The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of all the citizens to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar on this pious occasion so as to commemorate his contribution to uplift downtrodden communities in the country.
Lauding the efforts of State Government, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Memorial Society Chairman Shri Bhante Sanghsheel said that Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) has become a shrine, due to unremitting helps and guidance of the Chief Minister. It was informed at the meeting that around 60 thousand pilgrims are expected to pay obeisance to Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar. All the arrangements for their stay and food have been made. At the function site, illumination, food, medical, security facility, temperary toilets, drinking water, and transport facilities are being ensured by the State Government. Ratlam Divisional Railway Manager has also been written to run a special train between Akola and Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow).
