Bhopal:Monday, September 8, 2008:A workshop was held at Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) to find ways to make National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme more effective. The workshop discussed process and experiences regarding scheme implementation.
Officers of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme Council and representatives of government and non-government implementation agencies were present at the workshop.
At the outset, Chief Executive Officer Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami informed that the workshop will discuss future plans in the light of experiences in connection with the construction of shelf-off project under NREGS in Madhya Pradesh. Later, discussions were held at the workshop in the same series on maintaining records a the Panchayat level, payment to labourers, social survey and technical issues.
