Bhopal:Wednesday, July 30 :A policy is being chalked out by Urban Administration Department with a view to improving the living conditions of slum dwellers. In this connection, a 18-member team has been constituted under Project Director, MP Urban Services for Poor (MPUSP).
This team would prepare the policy and moot suggestions for solving problems faced by slum dwellers, check on construction of new slums, fixing responsibility of government and semi-government institutions, establishment of community infrastructure in slums, situation of livelihood, capacity building training etc.
Members of the team include Gwalior Mayor Shri Vivek Shejwalkar, Hoshangabad Municipality corporator Dr Narendra Pandey, Prof H Mitra of Academy of Administration, Bhopal, Additional Director, Town and Country Planning, Shri B.N. Tripathi, Joint Director, Urban Administration Shri U.K. Sadhav, Deputy Commissioner, Madhya Pradesh Housing Board Shri R.K. Yadav, Commissioner, Sagar Municipal Corporation Shri Ratnakar Singh Chouhan, Commissioner, Dewas Municipal Corporation Shri Devendra Singh, Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency Ujjain, Shri Manoj Pathak, Nodal Officer of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Shri Mayank Verma and Chief Municipal Officer Narsinghpur, Shri Himanshu. Shri P.K. Nandy of C.T.A., U.N. Habitat Bhopal, state representative Shri Hamid Al Bashir, Water Aid Bhopal’s Sushri Mamata Vora Thakkar, Dr. Yogesh of Samarthan Bhopal, Urban Administration and Development Department executive engineer Shri Abdul Ghaffar Khan and Urban Administration Officer Shri Neelesh Dubey.
Member Secretary of the team would be Deputy Director, M.S.U., Shri Sunil Singh. The working group would submit the final draft of the policy to the government after undertaking review.
