Ten women of Barghat in Seoni district have set yet another example of empowerment under Swarnjayanti Swarozgar Yojana. The women, who once wander about in search of employment, now have a computer and photocopy centre. These ten women of ward No. 11 of Nagar Panchayat Barghat joined hands together and move ahead shoulder-to-shoulder to write a new chapter. They formed Ayodhya Savings and Credit Society and then never looked back. Fameeda Bano of the Credit Society says that all the ten members of the society were once daily workers. They started saving money despite their measly incomes and then made contact with Nagar Panchayat Barghat for starting their own self-employment. The civil body prepared a group loan case in the year 2007-08 and got a loan sanctioned from State Bank of India’s Barghat branch to the women’s self-help group to start a computer and photocopy centre. Now our business is going strong increasing by the day, says an elated Smt. Sakeena Bano, another member of the group thanks to the government’s scheme.
