Bhopal,March 23,On the occasion of death anniversary of noted Sarod Maestro Ustad Rehmat Ali Khan, Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan Sangeet Akademi is organising a
two-day music festival at Bharat Bhavan from March 24 . Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Secretary Culture and Public Relations and Trustee Secretary of Bharat Bhawan would inaugurate the festival at 7 pm on March 24.
Ustad Rehmat Ali Khan was a noted Sarod maestro of Bhopal. He was the son of Gwalior’s great musician the late Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan. He commanded respect due to his down to earth and amicable behaviour. He rendered his invaluable and prolonged services to Akashwani, Bhopal. On the first day of the festival on March 24, Kolkata’s Shri Devashish Bhattacharya would play on guitar followed by Sitar playing by Shri Subrotu De from New Delhi.
On the second day of the festival on March 25, Culture, Public Relations and Mineral Resources Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma would be the chief guest. This session would including song, music and dance performances. First, Bhopal’s Shri Amer Ahmad would play on Sarod followed by vocal rendition by Sushri Sulekha Bhatt. The festival would conclude with the dance performance by Jaipur’s famous artiste Sushri Reema Goyal. Entry is free on both the days.
