Bhopal , Tuesday, January 10 : Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of Empowered Committee of States’ Finance Ministers Shri Sushil Kumar Modi has praised Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act being implemented in Madhya Pradesh.
After conclusion of a two-day meeting of the committee, Shri Modi said that this Act is very effective in delivering government services to the common man within the time-limit. Several states of the country including Bihar have implemented the Act by effecting some minor changes in it. He said that the common people of other states will also feel quite relieved if similar Act is implemented over there.
At the meeting, a power-point presentation was made on Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act. Shri Modi also lauded the online service provided by Madhya Pradesh Commercial Taxes Department for delivering various services to business persons.
It may be mentioned that on the lines of MP Public Service Guarantee Act, a number of other states including Bihar, Delhi, Jammu-Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Uttrakhand and Haryana have also implemented the similar Act. Government services have been delivered to about 82 lakh persons in the state in just one and a half years after implementation of the Act. Besides, online services have also been introduced under the Act five months ago. So far, about 6.50 lakh persons have availed online services.
There is a provision of imposing a fine of Rs. 250 per day on officers and employees not delivering government services within time-limit. So far, fine has been imposed on about one and a half dozen government servants.
