Bhopal:Monday, April 21:The state government has decided to conduct summer sports training camps at the district level from May 1 to 15. Like in the past, this year also these camps would be organised for the students from class VIII to XII. In this connection necessary instructions have been issued to all the District Education Officers.As per the instructions, these camps should be organised at the district headquarter level alone. Such playgrounds should be selected for organising the camps where all the amenities are available which meet the stipulated standards. It must also be ensured that the camps should be organised at one or two places in a district and the training camp must be located at the district headquarter so that maximum number of students avail of its benefits.
Cooperation for conducting these camps would be sought from N.I.S. trainers, experts, sports trainers, players appointed on the basis of their excellent performances, retired physical training teachers and other teachers who had remained active in organising school sports. Functions should be organised on inauguration and conclusion of the training camps where special presence of those players be ensured who have taken part at national or international level competitions or have been honoured with Vikram Award.
At the concluding function, trainers and medal winners of national school sports competition should be felicitated. The lodging arrangement should be made at a school at the district headquarter for students coming to participate in the training camps from rural areas and far-fetched regions. In this connection arrangements at par with district-level competition should be ensured so that participants face no discomfort.
In case trainer for a particular sports is not available in the district, contact should be made with Sports Officer of the regional headquarter for making such an arrangement. If no arrangements could be made even after these efforts, written information should be given to Directorate of Public Instructions by April 30 so that experts from other districts could be arranged.
Instructions have also been issued to publicise the summer sports training camps on a large scale. All the Joint Directors should ensure organisation of sports training camps as per schedule and send the compliance reports thereof to the directorate by June 15, 2008.
