Chancellor’s Scholarships distribution function held at R.G.P.VBhopal:Friday, October 3, 2008:Governor Dr. Balram Jakhar has said that students are the nation builders. The Governor expressed this view while distributing Chancellor’s Scholarships to meritorious students at Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya here today.
He exhorted the students to imbibe discipline and concentrate on their studies keeping a set target before their eyes. Expressing happiness over introduction of Chancellor’s Scholarships for the first time in Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Governor Dr. Balram Jakhar said that talents of this sector should be honoured at every level for putting the country on global pedestal. Dr. Jakhar wished for bright future of these meritorious students.
Describing students as the focal point of the country as well as society, Governor Dr. Jakhar said that students of today are the country’s future. Students would have to become dedicated and dutiful. They will have to discharge the responsibility of doing away with social evils and make the fellow citizens aware of the real meaning and implications of freedom. Recalling former prime minister, the late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, the Governor said that he had great foresight and full confidence in the young generation. The fast progress being witnessed these days in technical education is the result of Rajiv Ji’s future perception.
Governor Dr. Jakhar bestowed Chancellor’s Scholarship to 148 meritorious students. The scholarship carries Rs 15 thousand. Earlier, Dr. Jakhar laid the foundation stones of buildings of library, School of Pharmaceutical Science and School of Science & Technology. On behalf of the university, a miniature idol of Maa Saraswati was presented to the Governor as a memento. Those present on the occasion included vice-chancellor of Chhattisgarh State Technical University Dr. V.K. Sthapak, vice-chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya Dr. Piyush Trivedi, director general of police Shri S.K. Raut, OSD to Governor, Shri Harbeer Singh and Governor’s secretary Shri K.K. Singh.
