188 new posts to be createdBhopal:Tuesday, September 16 :Taking a serious view of the terrorist activities in the country the state cabinet at its meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today decided to set up a state level anti terrorism sqaud. For this 188 new posts would be created.
The state government is alert about the rise in terrorist activities recently. Madhya Pradesh has been considered sensitive in this regard. In western part of Madhya Pradesh terrorist outfit SIMI have come to light. In view of the terrorist attacks on religious, commercial and strategically important places it is imperative to beef up security there. With a view to expose and destroy the inter state and international network of terrorists it was felt necessary to put in place a set-up with speical professional competence.
The state level anti terrorism squad would function as a special unit to counter terrorism. The functions include identification of sensitive spots after overall analysis, developing linkages, copiliation and analysis of information, legal action and investigation of terrorist incidents and help in prosecution. The sqad wold remain active at seven important places and its activities would cover entire state. Proper training would also be given to the members of the sqad.
Out of the total 188 new posts to be created for the sqad three posts would be of Superintendent of Plice, nine Deputy Superintendent of Police, 13 Inspoectr, 13 Sub Inspector, 11 Stenographer, 54 Head Constable and 62 Constable. An expenditure of Rs. 3.5 crore would entail on the salary-allowance of the sqad.
