Bhopal:Tuesday, August 26, 2008:Besides prevailing system of addressing the problems and complaints of displaced families of Narmada Valley projects, a separate grievance redressal cell would be operative very soon at Narmada valley Development Authority Head quarters.The officers dealing with rehabilitation would entertain the complaints from oustees and take necessary action for their disposal . The clearance for the cell was given in 152nd high power meeting of NVDA held here at Narmada Bhavan. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Narmada Valley Development, Shri Nagandra Singh who is also chairman of NVDA. Shri Nagandra Singh said that at present oustees grievance are being looked at the level of rehabilitation officer, Collector and by the grievances redressal Authority (GRA). It has been noticed that applications from oustees also poured down at NVDA head quarters.
To deal with these applications an effective and efficient system was needed. The separate G.R. cell would fulfill this need. He asked the officers to be deployed for the Job to deal the complaints and problems of oustees with full sensitivity and devotion. The V.C. Pradeep Bhargava informed that he would personally monitor the performance of this cell. The cell would be asked to put details of complaints received, disposed or directed to competent authority on 5th day of every month.
The long awaited demand of New Harsood for road to connect N. Harsood to state highway Number 15 had also approved in the meeting. The approved road would be 2.79 k.m. long connecting New Harsood to state highway. The road would boost the commercial activities of the town. Sanction was also accorded for Raghavpur , Rosra, Basania, Chinki and Sitareva to upgrade them as multipurpose project from the power project status .Members of NVDA, senior officials of various department attended the meeting.
