Bhopal: May 2:Special initiative is being undertaken by the state government for helping artisans, weavers and craftsmen get loans for starting their own employment. Under this initiative, a large loan disbursal camp is being organised on May 7 at Kakadkhera village in Sehore district where loans would be extended to about one thousand five hundred weavers and craftsmen. Rural Industry Minister Shri Karansingh Verma has issued instructions to district officers to prepare loan cases of maximum number of people.
Large number of craftsmen excelling in iron works, bamboo craft, pottery etc. live in Sehore district adjoining the state capital Bhopal. Due to inadequate employment opportunities their economic condition is pitiable. Therefore, the state government is undertaking this special initiative.Many types of schemes are being implemented by Handloom and Handicraft Development Corporation and Silk, Khadi and Rural Industry Board under Rural Industry Department and this loan camp is being organised to help artisans, weavers and craftsmen to take advantage of these schemes on May 7. Loans would be distributed among them the same day.
Meanwhile, 1764 cases have been prepared for extending loans to craftsmen and weavers of Sehore and Ichhawar Tahasil. Out of these, 1584 loan cases have been submitted in branches of various banks.Similarly, the Rural Industry Department got a survey of its schemes conducted in Sehore district and gave approval for imparting training to one thousand persons.Large-scale preparations are under way for the camp where officers related to rural industry would be specially present.
