Bhopal:Monday, October 6, 2008 : Public Relations, Culture & Mineral Resources Minister and minister incharge of Rajgarh district Shri Laxmikant Sharma has said that special attention is being accorded to infrastructure development in Madhya Pradesh. Remarkable works have been undertaken during the last four and a half years to betterment of roads and supply of power and water. Public Relations Minister Shri Sharma was addressing a function the other day after performing Bhumi Poojan of development works to the tune of Rs 12 crore at Khilchipur.
Public Relations Minister Shri Sharma said that the state government has not allowed financial crunch to come in the way of development works both in rural and urban areas. Funds are being made available on priority basis for public welfare works. Shri Sharma also threw light on various public welfare schemes. Rupees 12 crore works, Bhumi Poojan of which was performed by Shri Sharma included construction of a bridge at a cost of Rs two crore 80 lakh across Garganga river on Papdel-Bhumariya road, Khilchipur-Bhumariya road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana at a cost of Rs eight crore 42 lakh, Sulabh Complex at a cost of Rs 11 lakh, C.C. road in Naharda temple complex at a cost of Rs nine lakh and three additional rooms at Excellence School costing Rs 10 lakh 76 thousand.
The function was also addressed by MLA Pandit Haricharan Tiwari and others. He said that now motor vehicles are zooming along the road where even walking on foot was a difficult task earlier. This has been possible only through development works undertaken by the state government. Large number of villagers and Panchayat representatives were present on the occasion.
