Bhopal:April 5, 2008:Former deputy prime minister and leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Shri Lalkrishna Advani would release a book focusing on ‘Adi Vikramaditya’ the initiator of Nav Samvatsar and a calendar titled ‘Janyoddha’ based on fighters of freedom struggle of 1857 at Ujjain on April 6.
The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh would preside over the function to be held at 6 pm at Shri Guruji Sports Complex, Mahananda Nagar, Ujjain. The Minister for Culture, Public Relations and Mineral Resources, Shri Laxmikant Sharma would be the special guest.
The book ”Adi Vikramaditya” and calendar ‘Janyoddha’ have been brought out by Swaraj Sansthan Sanchanalay. The book ”Adi Vikramaditya” published under Akshay Nidhi book series has been penned by famous littérateur Dr Bhagwatilal Rajpurohit and it throws light with proofs on Vikramaditya, the great figure of Indian culture and folklores, the system of his justice and government, his love for arts and education and cultural atmosphere in his era etc. Earlier, research-based books on great thinkers and their works like Varah Mihir, Bhartrihari, Bhavbhooti, Bhojandev Shudrak and Patanjali have been published under Akshay Nidhi book series by Swaraj Sansthan Sanchanalay.
Fighters of India’s freedom struggle of 1857 is the theme of this year’s Janyoddha Calendar, edited by Shriram Tiwari and brought out by Swaraj Sansthan Sanchanalay. In earlier years this calendar has been published on the themes of tribal people’s participation in freedom struggle, Indian revolutionary movement and countrywide struggle by tribal people for India’s independence. This year’s calendar is based on freedom fighters of Madhya Pradesh including Tatya Tope, Rani Avanti Bai, Umrao Singh Subedar, Gurul Singh, Ranmat Singh, Farzand Ali, Daulat Singh Kachhwaha, Desapt Bundela, Khajya Nayak, Kishore Singh, Vijay Kumar Panda and P Sundarrao Acharya (Bhubaneswar), Chandrashekhar Joshi (Pune), Satyajit Varekar, Rajendra Patil (Mumbai), Nathulal Verma (Jaipur), Baburao Nadoni (Banglore) etc.
