Residential schools for imparting quality education to scheduled casts’ meritorious students have been opened at seven divisional headquarters in the state. These residential schools are being run by the Department of Scheduled Caste Welfare. Admission has been given in these institutions to those scheduled caste students who have more than 60 per cent marks.

Each residential school has 280 seats.
These residential schools are situated at Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Rewa, Jabalpur and Sagar. Students from class VI to XII are imparted education at these schools where 280 seats are available in each school. Out of these seats, 50 per cent seats are reserved for girls. Each student imbibing education in these schools is given Rs 600 stipend per month apart from Rs 100 special stipend as nutritious food allowance. Each student is also given Rs 2000 every year for uniform and other material.
The results of these schools have been 87 per cent in the 10th Board Exam and 86 per cent in 12th Exam.
