Bhopal:Thursday, July 23, 2009:The state government has allocated Rs 94 lakh 67 thousand for economic assistance to those affected by calamities, fire incidents and hailstorms.
The decision on fixing quantum of allocation is taken by a committee constituted for conducting National Calamity Relief Fund/National Calamity Contingency Fund. The committee is headed by the Chief Secretary.
Out of this allocation to ten districts, Balaghat collector has been allocated Rs 14 lakh 47 thousand, Bhopal Rs 3.36 lakh, Burhanpur Rs 17.72 lakh, Jhabua Rs 8.59 lakh, Guna Rs 3.94 lakh, Khandwa Rs 5 lakh five thousand, Satna Rs 19.80 lakh, Narsinghpur Rs 8 lakh, Burhanpur Rs 6.14 lakh and Umaria Rs 7.60 lakh. The concerning collectors have been asked to utilise the allocated funds as per the norms laid down by RBC 6-4.
It may be mentioned that under Revenue Book (Calamity Relief), economic assistance is provided against damage to crops due to natural calamities, loss of cattle, damage to house & household goods, loss of life, last rites of unclaimed dead bodies, disposal of dead animals, losses suffered by potters, weavers, fire-affected shopkeepers, fishermen and damage to bullock cart or other agriculture equipment.
