Bhopal:Thursday, April 10, 2008:The State Government have made an allotment of Rs. two crore 51 lakh 50 thousand to the collectors of 45 districts for transportation of drinking water in the rural areas facing acute drinking water scarcity in their respective districts. The collectors concerned have been directed to utilise the funds for drinking water transportation in the problems areas where all the drinking water sources have dried up completely.Of this allotment, a sum of Rs. ten lakh each has been provided to the districts of Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Ratlam, Ashok Nagar, Datia, Morena, Bhind, Sheopur, Satna, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Jabalpur and Katni. While, an amount of Rs. five lakh each has been allotted to the districts including Badwani, Khandwa, Dewas and Mandla. Similarly, Rs. two lakh each have been provided to the districts of Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Chhindwara, Dindori, Balaghat, Indore, Dhar, Ujjain, Shajapur, Mandsaur, Guna, Rewa, Shahdol, Anooppur, Sidhi and Umaria. Further, an amount of Rs. 50 thousand has been released to Burhanpur district for transportation of drinking water in the rural areas facing severe drinking water problem.
