Bhopal:March 31, During the last four years, record number of achievements have been made in the field of power transmission which are more than the works undertaken during the earlier period of ten years. This consolidation in transmission system has been possible due to priorities set by the state government and
their effective implementation. As a result, the transmission capacity rose to 6493 megawatts last year in comparison to only 3890 megawatts in the year 2002-03. Now, a target of 8170 megawatts has been set for the year 2008-09.
Some of the record achievements during the last four years include setting up of 41 sub-stations while the number of sub-stations during the earlier ten-year period stood at just 27.One of the examples of transmitting power to consumers with high quality is that during the last three years 3611 circuit kilometres of transmission lines of different capacities have been set up. These include 400 KV, 200 KV and 132 KV transmission lines. On the contrary during the earlier ten years only 3044 circuit kilometres of transmission lines could be set up.
Not only this, but during the last four years capacity of transformers at high-tension sub-stations has been increased up to 7480 MVA while during the earlier ten years this capacity could be raised up to only 6942 MVA.
