Bhopal,12 May:The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said along with scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes the interests of the poor of general category would also be safeguarded on priority. Shri Chouhan said necessary steps would be taken on receiving the recommendations of the Samanya Varg Nirdhan Kalyan Ayog constituted for this purpose.
Shri Chouhan observed this during his meeting with the chairman of the Ayog Shri Babulal Jain and concerning officers who called on him here today. Shri Chouhan said that the facilities being provided to the poor of general category in respect of education, health, and employment would be enhanced as per the Ayog’s recommendations. The Ayog would submit its interim report soon. It may be mentioned here that the Ayog was constituted in January this year.
Shri Babulal Jain said that Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the country to constitute such a commission for the poor of general category. It has elicited useful suggestions during last three months to promote the interests of the poor of general category.
The Chief Minister was informed about the suggestions received by the Ayog. Secretary of the Ayog Shri A.N. Tiwari, Joint Director, School Education Shri K.K. Pandey, Joint Director, Water Resources Shri Nitin Nandgaonkar and Dr. Piyush Verma were also present on the occasion.
