6 sep : Panchayat Secretaries will be declared as district cadre employees with a view to providing them better work atmosphere. Panchayat Bhawans will be fully equipped and cases of Panchayat Secretaries will have to be disposed of within 90 days. These announcements were made by Panchayat and Rural Development and Social Justice Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava while addressing the regional convention of Panchayat Sachiv Mahasangh. He said that the state government is considering to give social security pension to the eligible beneficiaries on the first day of every month like salary. Besides, disposal of applicants for this pension within a month will be made mandatory.
The convention was organised by the Panchayat Secretaries with a view to expressing gratitude towards the state government for taking important decisions in their favour. Shri Bhargava said that Panchayats are the foundation stone of the all-round development of 70 per cent population of the state. Various welfare and development schemes are being run through Panchayats and Panchayat Secretaries carry the important responsibility of implementing these schemes. In view of this, the state government has decided to include Panchayat Secretaries in the district cadre.
Shri Bhargava said that besides improvement in the service conditions of Panchayat Secretaries, they should also be provided better work conditions and for this, well-equipped Panchayat Bhawans will be constructed. Each building will cost Rs 10.50 lakh and will have an ATM counter and inverter. Shri Bhargava said that the government will ensure that cases of Panchayat Secretaries do not remain pending for over 90 days. He said that he will dispose of cases at his level within 24 hours. Underlining the shortcomings in the schemes meant for disabled and poor persons, Shri Bhargava said that the government will ensure that beneficiaries of social security pension get the pension like salary on the first day of every month. He said that such pension cases must be disposed of within a month. Otherwise, the government is considering that the applicant should be considered as eligible and pension e released to him.
In his welcome address, patron of Panchayat Sachiv Pranteeya Mahasangh Shri R.P. Shukla expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Gopal Bhargava for bettering the lot of Panchayat Sachivs. He assured that Panchayat Secretaries will discharge their duties with total devotion and honesty. MLA Smt. Nandini Marawi was also present at the convention.
