Bhopal:Sunday, April 27: Weekly review of revenue collection has been started at the state level with a view to tightening up the system of transport revenue collection and checking its evasion.With this in view, Additional Chief Secretary Home and Transport Shri Vinod Choudhary undertook a district-wise review of transport revenue collection of first three months of the current financial year. A target to collect transport revenue to the tune of Rs 1011 crore has been set for the financial year 2008-09. Against it Rs 42 crore revenue has been collected in the first three weeks. Maximum transport revenue of Rs 12 crore 25 lakh was collected in Indore.
The departmental officers have been given instructions at the weekly review meeting to undertake intensive efforts for collection of transport revenue proportionate with the target.
