Bhopal:Monday, September 1, 2008: A unique initiative was undertaken for providing jobs to youths having different educational qualifications at a common venue. The occasion was Rozgar Mela held in Damoh district recently.
With the cooperation of Rural Development Department, Rozgar Mela, the employment-centric programme, was held last Saturday under D.P.I.P which was participated by two thousand 436 male and female candidates. Out of them, 1055 youths were chosen by various private companies.
As many as 350 youths were selected for jobs by Suraksha Group Mumbai, 61 by Pratibha Syntex Mandideep, 80 by Vardhaman Yarn Mandideep, 100 by Ambuja Exports Gujarat, 60 by Rosy Blue Diamond Cutting Indore, 61 by S.B.I. Life Insurance, 157 by Global Academy Security Guards, 175 by Bundelkhand Samiti and 11 by Guruwar Dairy.
Addressing the Rozgar Mela, Industry and Employment Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya said that expertise and dexterity help a person get a job more than the degree. He said that working with dedication and concentration increases opportunities of employment. The minister said that there is no dearth of employment for hard workers.
He informed that a high level committee has given its approval for providing 1250 acres of land for the proposed steel plant at Batiagarh in Damoh district. The plant will be established at a cost of Rs 2200 crore by S.P.J. Company of West Bengal. The plant will provide direct employment to over two thousand people. Shri Malaiya informed that educated unemployed youths are required by many companies including 150 by Spinning Mills Mandideep, 100 at Peethampur and 250 by Ambuja Group of Gujarat as security guards. He said that Damoh diamond factory is being expanded which would also throw open door of more jobs.
Recalling the last Rozgar Mela, Shri Malaiya said that many youths who were employed then by various companies have relinquished their jobs. He exhorted the youth not to waste better opportunities and perform their duties with devotion and dedication.
Shri Malaiya said that such Rozgar Melas would be organised for the benefit of polytechnic students as well in which candidates of mechanical and electrical engineering will be selected.
Those present on the occasion included chief executive officer Shri Akhilesh Shrivastava, district project officer of D.P.I.P. Dr. S.D. Khare and state employment coordinator Shri S.K. Paas.
