Bhopal:Sunday, April 6, 2008:The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has extended his heartiest greetings on Nav Samvatsar, Gudi Padwa, Chetichand and Varsh Pratipada to the people of the state. In his message on the occasion the Chief Minister said that all the festivals strengthen fraternity and unity.
The Chief Minister said that the Vikram Samvat introduced by Samrat Vikramaditya before Christ has great historical significance. This also signifies the Samrat’s love for his subject and the self-respect of India.
Greeting people on Cheti Chand the Chief Minister said that this is the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Jhulelal, which inspires us to have compassion, kindness and promote brotherhood and good will.
The Chief Minister said that Gudi Padwa signifies superiority of Yoga over sensual pleasure; of spiritual power over material prosperity and of sublime thought over impurities of mind.
Shri Chouhan has called upon the people to celebrate the festivals with traditional fervour in a climate of peace and amity.
