17 Sep : Massive participation of people’s representatives and those of institutions dedicated to health care of children and promotion of nutrition among them will mark the launching ceremony of the Atal Child Health and Nutrition Mission on Gandhi Jayanty from Bhopal. Invitees will be administered an oath of making Madhya Pradesh free from malnutrition.
The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan viewed the preparations for launching ceremony to be held at Motilal Nehru Stadium Bhopal.
The Chief Minister gave instructions to invite self help groups, Anganwadi workers, representatives of voluntary organizations, and Panchayats to the launching ceremony. He said that it is a joint responsibility of everyone to free Madhya Pradesh from malnutrition. Public participation on a massive scale is a must for optimum results, he added.
Shri Chouhan gave instructions to encourage participation of village level institutions and committed non-government bodies for effective implementation of the Mission activities at grassroots level. The launching of the Mission should spread a message to end malnutrition.
Shri Chouhan discussed the outline of programmes for the launching ceremony. He gave instructions to make message-oriented programmes announcing the launch of a crusade against malnutrition. He said that with the launch of the Mission, district level programmes should also be designed to spread the message far and wide.
Minister for Women and Children Development Smt. Ranjana Baghel apprised the Chief Minister of preparations. chief Secretary Shri Avani Vaish, Principal Secretary Women and Child development Smt. Lavleen Kakkad, Director Women and Child Development Shri Anupam Rajan, secretary to C.M. Shri Anurag Jain were present.
