Bhopal:Friday, August 21: Manik Chandra Vajpayee National Award for Journalism for year 2008 would be conferred on senior journalist Shri Ramshankar Agnihotri. Former Sarsanghchalak of RSS Shri K.C. Sudarshan would present this prestigious award instituted by Madhya Pradesh government to recognize outstanding contribution to valued based journalism. The award would be presented at a function to be organized on August 23 at 6 pm at Ravindra Bhawan here.
Shri Agnihotri has been selected for the award by a high level jury comprising Shri Om Prakash Kundra, Bhopal, Shri Sharad Dwivedi, Bhopal, Shri Tarun Vijay, Delhi and Shri Shridhar Paradkar, Gwalior.
The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the function. The Minister for Culture and Public Relations Shri Laxamikant Sharma will be special guest on the occasion.
The award carries a cash amount of Rs one lakh and a citation. Instituted in year 2006, the first award was given to Shri Bhagwati Dhar Vajpaiyee, Jabalpur and the award for year 2007 to Shri Om Prakash Kundra. Bhopal.
