Bhopal:Friday, July 25 : In 239 industrial disputes till the month of July in the state, orders of payment to the tune of Rs five crore 82 lakh nine thousand have been issued. Out of this Rs two crore 74 lakh 99 thousand is the principal amount and Rs three crore seven lakh five thousand 957 interest. In all, 263 disputes were filed by the small industries.
It may be mentioned that in the interest of small industries, the state government had enacted ‘Laghu Evam Anushangik Audyogik Upkramon Ko Vilambit Sanday Par Bayaj Adhiniyam 1993 and 1998’. The state government had also constituted Madhya Pradesh Facilitation Council under the notification issued on August 16, 2000. The council had received 207 cases by July 2006. The council disposed of 180 of these cases and passed the orders for payment of principal amount to the tune of Rs one crore 72 lakh eight thousand 648 and one and half fold interest amounting to 71 lakh 51 thousand 350 as per State Bank of India’s PLR. The rest of 27 disputes were put up before the newly constituted Madhya Pradesh Micro and Small Enterprise and Facilitation Council’s first meeting on July 6, 2007.
The Madhya Pradesh Micro and Small Enterprise and Facilitation Council was constituted replacing M.P. Industries Facilitation Council by the state government on January 10, 2007 exercising power under Union government’s ‘Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act 2006 (No. 27 of 2006). Industry Commissioner Shri Deepak Khandekar is the chairman of the council and three official members include Shri J.P. Nagar, Director, Micro and Small Enterprises Development Institute, Indore, Shri K.M. Bannerjee, Deputy General Manager, Central Bank of India, Bhopal and Shri D.S. Despande, Assistant General Manager, Indian Small Industries Development Bank, Bhopal while Shri Radhasharan Gowami, chairman, M.P. Laghu Udyog Development Association is the non-official member.
So far, ten meetings of the newly council have been organised by the month of July 2008. The council has disposed of 59 out of 82 disputes ordering payment to aggrieved small industries of their principal amount of Rs one crore three lakh 91 thousand 149 and three fold interest as per SBI rates prevalent before October. In all, 23 disputes are pending with the council. Thus, by the month of July 2008, orders of payment to small industries to the tune of Rs five crore 82 lakh nine thousand 754 have been passed.
