Jabalpur:Sunday, August 17, 2008:The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Jabalpur is fast growing as a metropolitan city and all out efforts would be made for its all round development and beautification. Funds would be no impediment for this, he assured.
Shri Chouhan was addressing a massive gathering of people after launching the Rs. 31.80 crore first phase of Project Uday in the premises of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation. He also dedicated a Call Centre of the Corporation set up at a cost of Rs. 44 lakh on the occasion. The Chief Minister announced that all the students upto 12th standard studying in the schools run by the municipal corporation would also be provided free textbooks.

Sushila Singh; Minister of State for Commercial Taxes, Shri Harendrajit Singh Babbu; Minister of State for Fisheries, Shri Moti Kashyap; MLAs Shri Anchal Sonkar, Shri Sharad Jain, Shri L.B. Lobo and Chief Minister’s wife, Smt. Sadhna Singh. .
The Chief Minister said that efforts would be made for early clearance for the various projects of development of Jabalpur from the Central Government. These include eight projects costing Rs. 199.11 crore. He said that sanction for four other projects costing Rs. 426.67 crore would also be obtained from the Central Government.
Shri Chouhan said that all out efforts are being made for development of the state and it would no longer carry the stigma of being a backward state. The schemes for welfare of the people have been implemented in right earnest, he added.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Shri Ishwardas Rohani said that the benefits of welfare schemes have reached all sections of society in the state. He sought the active cooperation of people for further success of these schemes.
