Bhopal:Wednesday, August 20, 2008:Revenue, Religious Trusts & Endowments and Rehabilitation Minister Shri Kamal Patel has said that information technology has become one of the crying needs of the hour. IT facilitates completion of various works rapidly and dexterously.
Therefore, in the present times lack of IT knowledge is akin to illiteracy. Shri Kamal Patel was addressing a seminar and IT training programme for chairmen of corporations/boards of the state held at Hotel Palash under the joint auspices of Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation and news portal M.P. Post.
Shri Kamal Patel said that information technology is playing an important role in the uplift of society’s weaker and backward sections. The e-governance has helped the state government a great deal in making governance and administration more efficient and ensuring state’s all round development. Shri Patel stressed the need of further expanding the IT network. Praising the training programme, he said that IT training should also be given to Tahasildars and Patwaris of Revenue Department as well.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister ‘s secretary Shri Anurag Jain, who is also secretary IT, said that Madhya Pradesh has many worthwhile achievements to its credit in the field of information technology. He informed that soon 9232 common service centre e-kiosks would be established in the state. Through the mponline web site, information related to all state government departments would be available even in villages. Shri Jain said that these days computers have become cheaper than mobile phones. It is quite easy to operate a computer without bars of age and education and therefore, everyone must learn to handle computers.
Earlier, Shri Kamal Patel inaugurated the seminar-cum-training programme by lighting the traditional lamp. Shri Sarman Nagele of M.P. Post threw light on the objectives of training programme and conducted the function. At the conclusion, secretary Information Technology Shri Anurag Shrivastava proposed a vote of thanks.
