Bhopal,9 June:Sri Lankan High Commissioner in India Shri C.R. Jaisinghe called on Public Works, Information Technology and Science and Technology Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya at his official residence here today. His visit coincides with the participation of Sri Lankan troupe in the International Ramleela Samaroh here. Shri Jaisinghe visited Shri Vijayvargiya’s residence after undertaking a tour of world-famous tourist destination Sanchi this morning.
During the talks with Shri Vijayvargiya, the High Commissioner praised the quality roads built to connect Sanchi with the state capital Bhopal and other major cities. Expressing gratitude towards Madhya Pradesh government on behalf of international Buddhist community, Shri Jaisinghe said that after construction of quality roads in Madhya Pradesh, international Buddhist devotees can easily reach religious place of Buddhism. This would also promote tourism in the state.
Public Works Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya informed the visiting dignitary about important works done by the state government for World Heritage Sanchi’s development. He informed Shri Jaisinghe that qualitative and attractive approach road would be constructed from Sanchi railway station up to Sanchi Stupa. He said that the roads leading to all other important tourist destinations would be constructed in the same manner for better traffic and transport facilities.
Earlier, Shri Vijayvargiya welcomed Shri Jaisinghe on the latter’s arrival at his residence. Those present on the occasion included Secretary Public Works Construction Shri S.K. Mitna, principal chief engineer Public Works Shri S.K. Dixit and chief engineer Public Works Shri P.C. Jain.
