Bhopal:Thursday, September 18, 2008:Taking yet another significant step in the interest of teachers the state government has decided to provide a grant of up to Rs. 6000 as course fee to the teachers doing B.Ed. Besides, the state government would bear entire expenditure on the fee of teachers doing D.P.E. course. About 20 thousand teachers would benefit from this decision in next two years.
Realising the importance of quality of school education the state government has given priority to improve the competence and skills of teachers. They are specially being prepared to help children become self-reliant.
The new scheme would be jointly implemented by the Rajya Shiksha Kendra and Indira Gandhi Open University. The Commissioner, Rajya Shiksha Kendra Shri Manoj Jhalani informed that the untrained teachers would be ensured the benefit of B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) and D.P.E (Diploma in Primary Education). The 20 thousand teachers going to benefit from this decision include Adhyapaks, contract teachers and Gurujis. The training would be given through District Education and Training Institutions (DIETs)
