Bhopal:Monday, August 18, 2008:Governor Dr. Balram Jakhar has exhorted the young generation to bring about a new awareness in society. He was addressing a function at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya here today after inaugurating a seven-day National Unity Camp.
The Governor asked the youths to spread the message of love and brotherhood to every nook and corner of the country. Dr. Jakhar said that young generation must show the right path to those who tend to fight each other in the name of religion, state and language.
Addressing the young folk artistes from different parts of the country, Governor Dr. Jakhar stressed the need to strengthen national unity. Such camps go a long way in meeting this requirement. Dr. Jakhar said that there is strength in unity. Besides, it gives spiritual peace. He said that India was the only country which follows the principle of unity in diversity. Describing the country as a beautiful bouquet, he said that the artistes who have come here are like beautiful flowers. The Governor exhorted them to draw inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and India’s first prime minister the late Shri Jawaharlal Nehru who dedicated their lives for the country. He also asked them to give attention to efforts for conserving water and maintaining greenery.
Speaking on the occasion, Magsaysay Award winner Shri Rajendra Singh said that water conservation would ensure safety of Indian culture as well. Youths must put in their best efforts for this purpose. The Governor also released a magazine titled ‘Abhivyakti’ on the occasion. The function was organised under the joint aegis of Nehru Youth Centre and Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay. Director of the Centre Shri Arun Kumar Saravgi and director of the Sangrahalaya Shri Kishore K. Basa were also present at the function.
