Bhopal:April 17:The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called upon the government servants to make the best use of facilities provided in the offices. They should put in their best to serve the people, he added.Shri Chouhan was inaugurating the new building of the Directorate of Urban Administration and Development constructed at a cost of Rs. 5 crore 10 lakh at Shivaji Nagar here today. The construction of this building was pending for last ten years which has been completed apace. The Chief Minister said that delay in construction works is not desirable. Many schemes become irrelevant due to inordinate delay in implementation. Promptness in taking decisions and executing them is necessary.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has taken several decisions in last two and half years for the welfare of government employees. He hoped that the better facilities provided in the new building would benefit the common people also. He went round the new building. In addition to the head of department, the Principal Secretary would also sit in this building as per requirement.
Mayor, Bhopal Shri Sunil Sood was also present on the occasion. Commissioner, Urban Administration Shri S.N. Mishra welcomed the Chief Minister and other guests. Principal Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Shri Raghav Chandra and other officers concerned were also present on the occasion.
This fully air conditioned building has an auditorium and a video conferencing hall. The building was purchased in 1979-80 from the Housing Board. Initially, it was used as a guesthouse. In 1998, construction of the building was taken up as per requirement. However, it could not be completed for various reasons. Now it has been completed speedily.
