15 Sep : The Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations will be dedicated to the spirit of Ao Banaye Apna Madhya Pradesh. A series of functions have been planned from state capital to Village Panchayats. District and block headquarters will witness grand functions. Sports and literary events celebrating the spirit of Madhya Pradesh will be organized round the year. The concluding ceremony will take place at Bhopal. This was informed at a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan to review the preparations at Mantralaya here today.
The Chief Minister asked the offices to design programmes in such a manner as would enlist the people’s participation. He said that participation of people’s representatives, voluntary organizations and common people should also be ensured. He instructed to give priority to sporting, literary and cultural events. He said that programmes like save energy, water, maintain cleanliness, encourage voluntary contribution of labour and prohibition. He said that sense of responsibility should be imparted to people regarding public-centric development works.
Shri Chouhan said that strengths of Madhya Pradesh should be highlighted at local levels for which foundation day celebration committees should be formed under the chairmanship of Minister In Charge of concerning districts. The forum of Village Panchayats and Gram Sabha should also be used for celebration and spread the feeling of belongingness.
Minister for Culture Shri Laxmikant Sharma informed that grand celebrations would be held at state level to mark the conclusion. Laser show and fireworks would be special attraction. It was informed that schools will also be involved in organizing functions like debate, painting, essay writing competitions dedicated to the theme. All government buildings would be illuminated.
