Morena:Monday, June 2:Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, Shri Rustam Singh laid foundation of three roads to be constructed at a cost of Rs. five crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Morena district, the other day. On this occasion, he reiterated the government’s commitment saying that every village will be connected with the main road and not even a single village would be left without road communication facility.
Shri Rustam Singh informed on the occasion that sanctions amounting to Rs. 162 crore 68 lakh have been received for upgradation of 133 roads in the district in the ninth phase under the scheme. A population of two lakh 62 thousand of 243 villages would have the road communication facility round the year on construction of these 590 km. long roads. So far, construction of 232 roads measuring 756 km. has been completed out of 276 roads sanctioned under the scheme. These roads are 910 km. long. An amount of Rs. 133 crore has been spent on these roads. Further, construction of roads has benefited population of nearly five lakh people.
Rural Development Minister Shri Rustam Singh performed bhoomi poojan of two kilometre long Bhojraj Ka Pura road connecting A.B. Road, nine and a half kilometre long Jakhoda (Sapcholi) road connecting Sumawali road and five kilometre long Khadiapura (Naka) road. The proposed roads involving an estimated cost of Rs. four crore 90 lakh would provide road communication facility to a population of three and a half thousand people.
