Bhopal: May 2:The state government has sanctioned 259 posts of contractual teachers grade-3 for imparting education to the children of members of primitive tribes in their own dialects. Orders have been issued to this effect. It may be mentioned that there is provision of imparting education to these tribesmen’s children in their own dialect is enshrined in conservation-cum-development scheme sanctioned for primitive tribes. These tribes are Bhariya, Baiga and Sahariya.
As per the orders, the candidate eligible contractual teacher must be domicile of the same Gram Panchayat and must belong to the same tribe in whose dialect education is to be imparted. Under this scheme, posts of 200 contractual teachers have been sanctioned for Sahariya, 50 for Baiga and nine posts have been sanctioned for Bhariya primitive tribes as per agency-wise number of schools.
Selection of contractual school teacher would be made on the basis of marks obtained in 12th Board examinations. If a woman candidate is available, priority would be given to her in appointment even though her number might be low in the merit. If candidates conforming to the stipulated eligibility are not available in a Gram Panchayat, then eligibility norms would be relaxed and appointment would be given on the basis of results of 10th Board exams, but such candidate would not be regularised until he or she passes examination of class XII.
Similarly, if even 10th pass candidate of the same tribe are not available in a Gram Panchayat, then the concerning Gram Panchayat/Gram Sabha can select a candidate from adjoining Gram Panchayat. The contractual teacher grade-3 would be appointed through the same process on the basis of merit by Janpad Panchayat.
The first appointment would be for the period up to November 30, 2008. The service of the contractual teacher would be extended after evaluating and assessing their work from time to time by the concerning district’s Primitive Tribe Authority. Pay scale/honorarium to these contractual school teachers would be at par with those of other contractual teachers in the state.
