Bhopal:Monday, December 14 : The Swami Vivekananda Career Guidance Scheme, launched to brighten the career of students and youth, has started to yield encouraging results. The process of counselling is going on in colleges also apart from high and higher secondary schools. In the series, a two-day workshop was organised for 50 students of home science at Dhar-based Government Girls College recently where they were imparted training in conserving fruits and vegetables and preparation of jams, jellies, pickles etc.
State Director of the career guidance scheme Dr. Pankaj Trivedi and assistant director Dr. Puroshottam Dubey were the special guests at the training programme. Inaugurating the programme, Dr. Pankaj Trivedi said that due to being over-busy, people are becoming dependent on the market for their food requirements. If girl students adopt preparation of pickles, jams and jellies as profession, then many families will become self-reliant.
Speaking on the occasion, principal Dr. RK Dave highlighted the importance of career. He said that this training will prove beneficial for girl students in future. Programme incharge Dr. Kusum Baurasi threw light on the annual activities of Vivekananda Cell. The programme was conducted by Dr. BR Patil who also proposed a vote of thanks.
