Bhopal,June 10:The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan inspected the Sultania Zanana Hospital here today. He was accompanied by Principal Secretary, Medical Education Shri M.M. Upadhyaya and Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri Anurag Jain.
During his inspection the Chief Minister visited the maternity room and talked to the patients including Smt Jyoti Verma. He apprised himself of the arrangements and medicine distribution in the hospital. Later, he visited another room and talked to patients Smt. Bhooribai and Smt. Radhabai. He also went to the postoperative ward and inspected the public facility centre adjoining it.
The Chief Minister also went to the Gyaeno Intensive Care Unit, which is the first unit of its kind in the state. The Chief Minister talked to the indoor patients including Smt. Usha, Smt. Anita Sen, Smt. Pushpa, Smt. Sangeeta and Smt. Seema in another ward and enquired about their health and the facilities available to them. He made detailed enquiry about distribution of medicines and treatment facilities.
The Chief Minister visited the medicine store and went over the distribution registers. He especially checked the registers pertaining to distribution of medicines to B.P.L and Janani Suraksha Yojana beneficiaries. He also saw the register, which records the distribution of financial assistance under Janani Suraksha Yojana.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction and happiness over cleanliness and medicine distribution in the hospital. He had a word of praise for hospital management for this.
Shri Chouhan said that efficient implementation of Janani Suraksha Yojana has led to a considerably increase institutional deliveries in the state. In view of this, there is need to increase the number of beds in the hospital and said that an additional maternity room would be set up soon in the hospital.
Shri Chouhan said that it would be considered to increase the present 20 percent limit for local purchase of medicines in hospitals attached to medical colleges.
