Bhopal:Tuesday, October 14, 2008: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that following Maharishi Valmiki’s ideals is the real tribute to him. Shri Chouhan was addressing the devotees after performing worship at Valmiki temple situated at Imambada area here today on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti. Those present on the occasion included chairman of Madhya Pradesh Safai Kamgar Commission Shri Gangaram Ghosre, Mayor Shri Sunil Sood, corporator Shri Alok Sharma and former MLA Shri Ramesh Sharma ‘Guttu Bhaiya’.On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan wished for fulfillment of his wish to ensure people’s development and prosperity. He said as per Maharishi Valmiki’s ideals he was making efforts to ensure that benefits of welfare schemes reach the last man in the last row. He said that he has made efforts that the light of independence and development reaches the weaker and neglected sections of society.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that from this year Valmiki Jayanti has been declared a public holiday. He said that this holiday is no favour to Valmiki community; but a token of respect to social and cultural contribution made by Maharishi Valmiki. He recalled that several steps have been taken for the welfare of Valmiki community after formation of Madhya Pradesh Safai Kamgar Commission. The Chief Minister said that he is committed to solving problems faced by society. Shri Chouhan described Valmiki Ramayan penned by the Maharishi as the best scripture in the world.
Earlier, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was honoured by adorning him with a turban and presenting him with a portrait of Maharishi Valmiki. Those who welcomed the Chief Minister included president of Maharishi Valmiki Mandir Nirman Yuvak Sangathan Shri Chandra Mohan Chouhan and Sarvashri Magan Jha, Rajendra Chouhan, Shailesh Chouhan, Dilip Chouhan, Rajesh Ghenghat, Mahesh Malviya, Anil Ajmera and Mahesh Makwana.
