Bhopal:Friday, August 27 :Bhopal district has topped in settlement of disputes at Lok Adalats in the state. During the financial year 2009-10, as many as 41 thousand 560 persons settled their cases at Lok Adalats in the district. Jabalpur with 24 thousand 956 cases stands second in the list. Giving this information, Law, Legislative Affairs, Parliamentary Affairs and Housing Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra said that two lakh 23 thousand 427 persons have settled their disputes through Lok Adalats in Madhya Pradesh during this period.
Dr. Narottam Mishra informed that cases are settled at the Lok Adalats through compromise. This helps both the litigants avoid unnecessary expenditure. Such settlements also lead to restoration of camaraderie among the litigants since no one emerges winner or lose in such settlements and justice is meted out to both the parties.
Dr. Mishra said that the third place in this respect has been secured by Satna district where 13 thousand 78 persons settled their cases at Lok Adalats followed by Indore (11,708 cases), Gwalior (9,104 cases), Mandla (6,992 cases), Narsinghpur (6,077), Mandsaur (5,539), Rewa (5,138), Ujjain (4,710), Vidisha (4,111), Sagar (3,815), Chhindwara 3,627), Dewas (3,425), Chhatarpur (3,403) Shajapur (3,107) and Sehore (3003).
According to Dr. Narottam Mishra through Lok Adalats 2,938 cases have been settled in Panna, 2,830 in Bhind, 2,710 in Hoshangabad, 2,591 in Guna, 2,502 in Balaghat, 2,454 in Betul, 2,399 in Khargone, 2,299 in Dhar, 2,160 in Katni, 2,054 in Khandwa, 1,946 in Shahdol, 1,823 in Shivpuri, 1,695 in Ashok Nagar, 1,565 in Rajgarh, 1,502 in Tikamgarh, 1,472 in Raisen, 1,383 in Damoh, 1,081 in Sheopur, 1,119 in Shajapur, 1,101 in Datia, 803 in Morena, 746 in Seoni, 742 in Ratlam, 725 in Barwani, 593 in Harda and 281 persons have settled their cases through Lok Adalat in Jhabua district.
