28 Oct : The Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that programmes will be organised on a grand scale right from State capital to Panchayat levels to mark the establishment day of Madhya Pradesh on November 1. Shri Chouhan was addressing divisional commissioners and district collectors through videoconferencing at the Mantralaya here today. Chief Secretary Shri Rakesh Sahni, Principal Secretary General Administration Shri Sudesh Kumar and Principal Secretary to CM, Shri Iqbal Singh Bains were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh Establishment Day has been focused on the theme ‘Aiye Apna Madhya Pradesh Banayen’ (Come, let’s make our Madhya Pradesh). He said that the efforts of the government for making the state developed and prosperous are incomplete without people’s participation. Shri Chouhan said there is need for more works despite development works having been undertaken during the last 53 years. He said by saying that the society should work shoulder to shoulder with the government he means to say that every citizen should feel that he has also to participate in the state’s development and progress. Shri Chouhan said that this feeling should be instilled among the state’s citizens.
Shri Chouhan told divisional commissioners and collectors to ensure large-scale public participation in Madhya Pradesh Establishment Day programmes. These programmes should be organised apolitically. The Chief Minister said that apart from ensuring participation of religious, social and voluntary organisations, members of political parties should also be invited to these programmes.
The Chief Minister said that besides main functions of Madhya Pradesh Establishment Day, other programmes should also be chalked out for Madhya Pradesh Week from November 1 to 7. During these programmes, people should be made aware about plantation, greenery, energy conservation, ensuring cleanliness and other important programmes. For an example, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan cited the work to eradicate Gajar Ghas (Parthenium hysterophorus) in Indore during Madhya Pradesh Week. Shri Chouhan said that with a view to checking diseases, free health camps can be organised during the week with the cooperation of voluntary organisations, private doctors and Red Cross.
Chief Secretary Shri Rakesh Sahni informed the collectors in detail of the instructions sent to them about programmes of Madhya Pradesh Establishment Day and Madhya Pradesh Week. He said that these programmes should be held with full dignity. Shri Sahni laid emphasis on community and public participation in the developmental activities during the week.
Programme’s objective
It may be mentioned that the state government has decided to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of formation of Madhya Pradesh on a grand scale with a view to creating the feeling of ‘Aiye Apna Madhya Pradesh Banayen’. It has been decided that this feeling will be created by taking the pledge for the state’s reconstruction, launching programmes for all round development through massive public participation and programmes of social interests.
