Bhopal:Tuesday, June 9 : The State Cabinet which met here today under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan took a number of important decisions, according sanction for launching 86 new child development projects and extending vehicle loan facility to the members of the 13th Vidhan Sabha.
With a view to expanding the health and nutritious food services for women and children in rural areas of the state, the State Cabinet accorded sanction for starting 86 new child development projects in the state. In addition to this, the Cabinet has also decided to establish additional anganwadi kendras numbering 9691 and 9830 sub-anganwadi kendras in the state. The Cabinet has also endorsed the proceedings initiated earlier in this regard. The Cabinet also accorded its approval to spend an additional amount of Rs. 8739.96 lakh for establishment of these kendras and to arrangement of 90 percent amount of this cost by the Government of India and 10 percent amount worth Rs. 873.99 lakh by the State government from its head. Besides, sanction was also accorded for spending an amount of Rs. 110 crore on supplementary nutritious food at the rate of 50 percent. For this, the departmental plan limit for the current fiscal 2009-10 was raised.
Moreover, in order to strengthen the existing system of distribution of supplementary nutritious food, the Cabinet decided to increase the rate of amount spent on this. Accordingly, it was decided to increase from Rs. two to Rs. four per day per child between the age group of six months to six years and to provide protein from 12 grams to 15 grams and 500 calorie. Similarly, sanction was also given for increasing the rate from Rs. 2.70 to Rs. six per day per malnourished child between the age group of six months to six years.
Under another decision, the members of the 13th Vidhan Sabha will now be extended the facility of vehicle loan. Accordingly, they will get vehicle loan upto Rs. five lakh from the nationalized banks. This facility will be extended under the terms and conditions of the Finance Department. Initially, the members will bear four percent interest while the remaining interest amount would be provided by the government as grant.
The Cabinet has also authorized the Higher Education Department to initiate the necessary action with regard to Madhya Pradesh Vishwavidhyalaya (Sanshodhan) Vidheyak 2008 so as to facilitate the way for getting the audit of universities of Madhya Pradesh done by the Accountant General, Gwalior.
The Cabinet also gave its approval to the decisions taken earlier in anticipation of their sanction. These include constitution of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, increase of CM’s discretionary head from Rs.14.50 crore to Rs. 17 crore, constitution of a cabinet committee on formulation of new transport policy and to give extension to Chairmen and members of Grievances Redressal Authority, Indira Sagar Project, Omkareshwar Project, Narmada Board and to appoint additional members.
