Bhopal:Wednesday, January 7, 2009: Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis reviewed the preparations for Vivekananda Career Counselling Camps to be organised in all the 313 development blocks from January 27 to February 5. The review meeting was held at the committee’s hall in the Vidhan Sabha premises.
Those present at the meeting included Principal Secretary School Education Smt. Snehlata Shrivastava, Commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra Shri Manoj Jhalani, Commissioner Higher Education Shri Ashish Upadhyaya, Director Technical Education Shri Ashish Dongre, Technical Training Commissioner Shri Anupam Rajan and other officers.
Smt. Archana Chitnis elicited information from the officers of the preparations made so far. She informed that about 7.50 lakh students of class X and XII will get the benefit of this scheme. The career counselling camps will be organised in any one school of all the blocks from January 27 to February 5. Earlier on January 17-18, training will be imparted to master trainers with the coordination of Higher Education Department. She exhorted School Education, Higher Education and Technical Education departments to work with better coordination for effectively implementing the Vivekananda Career Counselling Scheme. One school in every block will soon be selected. The master trainers of Higher and Technical Education departments will take part in this process. Janbhagidari Samitis of colleges will also play an important role.
The meeting discussed establishment of a call centre giving suggestions related to education related policy matters. Smt. Chitnis has asked the three departments to prepare their respective action plant for setting up the call centre.
