5 Mar : It is for the first time in the history of Madhya Pradesh, 335 new posts under various cadres in Labour Department have been sanctioned. The State Government is strengthening district offices including headquarters of Labour Department keeping the interest of labourers in mind. The work of welfare schemes will be accelerated in the state. The State Government has issued orders in this respect.
Labour Minister Shri Jagannath Singh informed that the posts have been sanctioned for the districts and headquarters of Madhya Pradesh Bhawan Evam Sannirman Karamkar Kalyan Mandal under Labour Department. Of the total 310 posts at the district offices include 50 posts of welfare Officers, 110 posts of welfare supervisors, 50 posts of assistant grade-3, 50 posts of drivers, 50 posts of peon-cum-watch men. Earlier, the district offices were not performing their duties satisfactory, due to lack of staff. It is expected that after the recruitment, there will be desired results at ground level for benefiting labourers. Similarly, administrative machinery at headquarters level is also being geared up. At this level, out of total 25 posts, one post of secretary, two of assistant secretaries, one of account officer, one of welfare officer, three of welfare supervisors, one of accountant, seven of assistant grade-3, three of drivers and six of peon/ watchmen have been sanctioned.
Labour Minister Shri Jagannath Singh informed that the department has taken up the task for fixing seniority of the employees. Besides, during past one year, Labour Department offices have been opened in 18 districts of the state. With this, three divisional offices have also started functioning. Power hub is also being developed at Singroli. Sidhi and Singroli have been made divisional offices in view of welfare of labourers.
